Overview

Next Level is a digital menu platform that hosts several Damascus restaurants under one address. It currently lists three: Sakbeh (traditional Damascene home cooking), Aurganica (healthy salads, meals, sandwiches and smoothies) and Doweh (sandwiches, pasta and hot meals). We built it as a fully Arabic, right-to-left web app. Guests pick a restaurant, browse its menu, build an order and send it in a few taps from any device, with nothing to install.

What we built

  • Restaurant directory: a clean landing page with the Next Level brand, the line "قوائم طعام احترافية لمطعمك" ("professional menus for your restaurant"), a live count of available restaurants, and a logo card for each venue that opens its menu.
  • A branded menu for each restaurant: every venue has its own logo, tagline, hero and accent colour (blue for Sakbeh, green for Aurganica, red for Doweh) on one shared layout. Buttons, prices and highlights all pick up that colour.
  • Restaurant hero: the venue name and tagline, buttons to browse the menu or contact the restaurant on WhatsApp or Telegram, and opening hours, days and location at a glance.
  • Restaurant switcher: a floating column of logos on the side of every menu, so guests can jump to another restaurant on the platform.
  • Category navigation: tabs for each menu section, such as salads, main meals, sandwiches, drinks, pasta, appetisers and family platters. They switch the item grid instantly. On phones they become a two-column grid of tiles.
  • Item cards and detail sheet: each card has a food photo, the name, a description (Aurganica's include protein and calorie counts) and the price in Syrian pounds, plus a quick-add button. Tapping a card opens a detail sheet with a large photo, next and previous buttons to move through the category, and a note field for special requests.
  • Full order cart: quantity controls, a subtotal, a consumption-tax line, the total, coupon codes and order notes.
  • Pickup or delivery: delivery orders take an address and can share the guest's current location.
  • WhatsApp and Telegram checkout: the finished order goes to the restaurant as a WhatsApp or Telegram message, so no payment gateway or extra app is needed.
  • Order from your table: a dine-in flow where guests pick their table number and can add a name and phone number before confirming.
  • Customer reviews: an average star rating, a review list and a "Rate us" button that opens a star-and-comment form. Reviews are published only after the restaurant approves them.
  • Contact section: phone, WhatsApp, Telegram, address and opening hours as cards, an embedded map, and a sticky header with an "Order now" button.

Design approach

The platform layer stays neutral, with a white canvas, bold black type and simple logo cards, so each restaurant's own brand can lead. Inside a menu, a warm off-white background and square-edged cards carry the restaurant's accent colour, and full-bleed food photography fills each card. The layout is right-to-left throughout and designed for phones first. Categories reflow into large tiles, cards sit two to a row, and the cart and item details open as full-height sheets.

Technology

  • Laravel backend that serves several restaurant menus from one installation, each with its own branding, categories, items and contact details
  • Vite-built front end with the Cairo Arabic typeface and Font Awesome icons
  • Arabic RTL layout (lang="ar" dir="rtl"), responsive from phone to desktop
  • Client-side cart kept in the browser, and order handoff through WhatsApp and Telegram deep links
  • Review submission with CSRF protection and a moderation queue
