Overview

Choco Melt is a dessert café that serves Belgian crêpes, pancakes, milkshakes, fresh juices, iced coffee and ice cream. We built it a fully Arabic, right-to-left digital menu that also takes orders. Guests browse the menu, build an order and send it to the café in a few taps on any device, with nothing to install.

What we built

  • Brand-led landing hero: a dark, cinematic opening with the Choco Melt emblem, the tagline "الذوق الرفيع" ("refined taste"), and quick buttons to open the menu or start a WhatsApp chat.
  • Visual category navigation: ten circular photo categories, including Belgian crêpes, Belgian pancakes, natural juices, milkshakes, cocktails, local pancakes, iced coffee, local crêpes, hot drinks and ice cream. They switch the product grid instantly and do not reload the page.
  • Product cards: each card has a food photo, the item name, a short description and the price in Syrian pounds. Items with variations carry an "Options" badge and a "starting from" price.
  • Item detail sheet: a bottom sheet with a large photo, the description and price, and an optional note field for each item, such as special requests.
  • Full order cart: quantity controls, a subtotal and total, coupon codes and order notes.
  • Pickup or delivery: delivery orders take an address and can share the guest's current location.
  • WhatsApp checkout: the finished order goes to the café as a formatted WhatsApp message, so the café needs no payment gateway or extra app.
  • Order from your table: a dine-in flow where guests choose their table number and can add a name and phone number before confirming.
  • Customer reviews: a star-rating and comment form. Reviews are published only after the café approves them.
  • Contact block: WhatsApp, phone and opening hours, plus a sticky navigation bar with an "Order now" button.
  • CMS-driven content: categories, items, prices, options, images and contact details are all managed from an admin panel. The café can update its menu without a developer.

Design approach

The visual language is taken from the brand's gold-on-black emblem. Near-black and deep-chocolate backgrounds sit under warm gold accents and bold Arabic display type. The menu itself is on a clean white canvas, so the dark, moody food photography stands out. The layout is right-to-left throughout and designed for phones first: the categories reflow into a two-column grid, the cards stack full width, and the cart and item details open as native-feeling sheets.

Technology

  • Laravel backend with an admin CMS for menu, items, options and reviews
  • Vite-built front end with Tailwind CSS utilities
  • Arabic RTL layout (lang="ar" dir="rtl"), responsive from phone to desktop
  • Client-side cart kept in the browser, and order handoff through WhatsApp deep links
  • Review submission with CSRF protection and a moderation queue
